Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Ensure overall success of all enrichment programs or projects. · Manage day to day operations of two sites. · Develop and implement high quality after-school programs in alignment with the organizations program model and goals · Supervise staff who implements program components. · Meet any and all Woodcraft Rangers, funder, partners or district mandated deadlines. · Ensure safe physical and emotional environment for program participants. · Organize own work daily, weekly and monthly to ensure key deadlines are met and to ensure work for key stakeholders is completed on time and according to instructions. · Assist in coordinating events, activities and meetings for school administration, parents and community organizations to increase awareness and support of the program. · Provide leadership for part-time site staff, students, and volunteers; and provide the necessary coaching, training, and performance assessment to ensure quality programming is delivered to our students. · Ensure program compliance and program quality is met according to funding, partner and Woodcraft Rangers guidelines or requirements. · Attend department meetings and professional development trainings offered by the organization · Works cooperatively with Program Manager, and supports collaborative goals. · Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: · Knowledge and experience working in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities. · Two years’ experience in program coordination and supervision. · Two years supervisory experience · Experience working with youth of all ages. · AA Degree or at least 9 units in Child Development and working towards a BA in social work, education, recreation or related field, preferred · Strong communication skills – oral and written communication · Experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities · Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability · Bilingual in English and Spanish desirable · Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook · Valid LIVE Scan, TB Clearance, and CPR Certification Company Description Woodcraft Rangers is a non-profit youth organization serving the Los Angeles area for the past +90 years. Woodcraft Rangers helps children and youth become happy, productive adults able to make good decisions through camping, youth groups and other activities. Our overall goal is to reduce unproductive uses of leisure time, increase positive educational/cultural/recreational activities, and to enhance the attachment of parents and youth to school as a support system. What we do We provide programs for the development and enrichment of youth using exciting formats in activities that peak their interest. Our prize-winning curriculum's help to encourage young people, as well as to build character, to expand their learning, and to help them discover new interests while engaging in positive community activities. Our focus lies in after school programming, although we offer a variety of other types of programming as well. Experts believe that the after-school hours are an opportunity to further involve students in academic, social, and physical activities. Woodcraft Rangers innovative expanded learning programs have been proven effective in improving academic performance and attitudes toward school, while decreasing risk factors. Our programs strengthen children's bonds with their natural support systems (family, peers, school, and community), thereby reducing their risks for academic failure, crime/gang involvement, substance abuse and teenage pregnancy.
